Japan Heritage Dazaifu

The Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine Jinko Event, which is a cultural asset of Japan Heritage, will be held.

　This festival has a thousand-year history. The Mikoshi, a portable shrine carrying the spirit of Sugawara no Michizane, is carried to the “South Hall of Dazaifu (now Enoki-sha Shrine)” where he lived his last years. The Mikoshi and a big procession go down the Donkan Street through the ancient town area.

Date：　21st (Sat.) to 25th (Wed.) September 2019
　　21st(Sat.): The procession departs from Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine at 19:00 (to Enoki-sha Shrine).
　　23rd(Mon.): The procession departs from Enoki-sha Shrine at 15:30 (to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine).
　　25th(Wed.) evening : the Sentomyoevent(The shrine grounds are illuminated by a thousand lights.)
